Night Vision Emitters and Detectors

E Wave has been developing and producing night vision (NV) compatible LEDs since 2000. Products include high power 980 nm emitters and 1020 nm LEDs (with/without filters) for use with silicon detectors. For systems where silicon detectors are not specified, E Wave provides 1300 nm emitters with matching photodiodes.

The Issue: emitters need to be (i) invisible to night vision (NV) systems, but (ii) seen by silicon detectors (response upto 1100 nm).

The Solutions:

  • narrow spectrum 980 nm emitters.
  • 1020 nm LEDs with integral filters.
  • 1300 nm LEDs and matching detectors.

The graph has a logarithmic y axis. This shows the NV emitters are 'invisible' to NV systems, many orders of magnitude below the peak.

NV Emitters - for use with non-silicon detectors

EWave offers 1300 nm LEDs and matching detectors, for use in NV systems which do not require silicon detectors. These are available in TO packages or low cost SMD packages. E Wave can also provide custom arrays, with heatsinking/cooling.
